ANCIENT Cities rise and cities fall. In time little is left of them beyond a tumbled pile of stones and and a few legends. At the height of their power though, some of these cities controlled vast areas which were regularly patrolled by knights dressed in armour and bearing weapons that could not be matched. Indeed it is thought that much common knowledge has slipped away. This is shown in the delicate traceries that decorate ancient weapons and armour that although being countless years old still look like they were forged yesterday. So far, the following Ancient items have been discovered:

COLD FORGED The dwarves long ago perfected the art of cold forging. They, however, did not invent this technique despite what they may say to the contrary. It is popularly believed to have been used by the sea-folk for their forging of tridents and spears in their watery caverns deep within the seas. This art favours light metals with razor sharp edges allowing them to be wielded underwater with nearly as much ease as on land. So far, the following Cold Forged items have been discovered:

DRAKE Skinning a drake is no easy matter. The poisons that are held within the gut along with the stench that takes weeks to get off the skin is more than enough to prevent any would-be tanner from taking anything but the tail. For this reason, it can take as many as six or more tails to make a suit of armour. The curing of these hides takes months, maybe even years so requesting a suit is not as simple as presenting a dozen drake tails to an armourer. Drake armour is fluid if made properly, bending and twisting like a second skin, offering excellent protection. So far, the following Drake items have been discovered:

DRUID's Followers of the ancient ways of Molwanh are able to pluck from a tree a branch such that it remains alive. The power invested in the wood invigorates the wielder but also charges them to take revenge on those that would hew trees. The weapon seems to have a will of its own as though an eon of anger at the destruction of forests was being channeled though the wood. So far, the following Druid's items have been discovered:

EMERALD POMMELLED The emerald is arguably one of the most mystical stones. Only the most intense green stones are used as pommel stones although their delicate nature means that these weapons are rare. The gem is associated with life and is used by many as a means of warding off illness. However, when set into a pommel this is reversed and it becomes the ability to cause greater wounds. This use for the emerald is frowned on by many. So far, the following Emerald Pommelled items have been discovered:

They have pockets all over, to the point where many young mages will lose a component for weeks at a time. The robes come in all colours although black and blue are the most common. They often incorporate images that twist and turn showing their magical nature. So far, the following Magi's items have been discovered:

MASTER CRAFTED After an apprenticeship of seven years, followed by a period of no less than twenty years entitles a craftsman to seek his mastership. His work is examined by others that have already achieved their masterships and should they be satisfied they will allow him to bear the title master. With this under his belt, many secrets are then taught to him. Some of these secrets are those taught to alchemist and magicians. It is therefore not surprising that master crafted items are superior to the point of being nearly magical. So far, the following Master Crafted items have been discovered:

MYSTICAL These rare items have not been forged by the hands of man, dwarf or even elf for that matter. They have been wrought by fay spirits of the gods as gifts for the faithful. The divine spark that imbues these items can be felt as a warm tingling to the touch and possibly a sibilant whispering in the dead of night. Invariably these items outlive the recipient of the gift, spending much of their time lying at the bottom of dungeons. So far, the following Mystical items have been discovered:

MYTHICAL Some of the greatest cities of legend are only known from relics and stories. These are translated from the etchings on these items. They tell of towers that scraped the very clouds and empires that stretched from sea to sea and armies that would take all day to march past a point. Whether these etchings are to be believed is another matter. All that is certain is that the items have endured long after names such as Mithaldor and Drogolheim have passed into myth. RUBY POMMELLED A gem is often placed in the pommel of a sword or knife. This is believed to imbue the wielder with mystical powers. The ruby gives prowess in battle, turning the warrior into a warlord of legend. It is certainly true that wounds inflicted by weapons bearing a ruby tend to be a lot deeper than those caused by normal weapons. The ruby alone though could keep someone in luxury for much of their life. So far, the following Ruby Pommeled items have been discovered:

RUNE ETCHED The art of rune etching is now only known to a few secret guilds in the hearts of cities and these keep this knowledge to themselves. Runes once drawn make the object they were etched into all but indestructible. It is no surprise then that these weapons turn up time and again. There are many runes that can be drawn, each specific to a purpose. Runes of hewing adorn swords and axes while runes of deflection and repelling are carved into armour and shields. A few dwarven strongholds used to specialise in runes of smiting and crushing for their warhammers. Sadly though all these no longer exist. So far, the following Rune Etched items have been discovered:
