xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx846 - GRAWK The grawk appears to be humanoid but instead of hair has a fine coat of feathers. These cover the entire body. The faces of these creatures is similar to that of a bird, with a large beak that is capable of rending flesh. They have fearsome claws that can tear through most armours with relative ease. They communicate with loud squawks that have a guttural sound giving them their name. Despite their fearsome appearance they only attack if they are hungry, which unfortunately is quite often. |

GRAWKLING Hatching from leather eggs, these beasts swiftly grow to adulthood fed on a diet of fresh flesh, still bloody. After only a few months, they are capable of hunting for themselves and can be found far from a parent. Even when young they have cruel beaks that will tear chunks out of armour.

GRAWK An adult grawk is a conservative hunter. While fearsome, they only attack for food and if the fight is not going well they will retreat. They almost never fight until death. This sense of self preservation can seem quite bizarre as a parent abandons its obvious offspring in a middle of a fight. Maybe egg laying instills a low empathy between parent and child.. |

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx847 - GIANT Appearing as huge cloven hoofed semi-humans, these beings are monsters of incredible size. The smallest of their kind will still make the largest man appear as a dwarf when stood together. They have a reputation for being stupid and prone to fighting and feasting but this does not make them evil although certainly cruel. There are legends of a race of noble giants, but if these beings still persist then they have proved elusive no doubt distancing themselves from their half-witted brethren. |

MINOTAUR Part man and part bull, the ferocious minotaur is a deadly opponent encountered in the underworld. Most fight with their powerful arms and the bulls horns upon their heads but some also use weapons captured from previous victims. They are solitary creatures and will attack anyone or thing entering their territory.

CYCLOPS The cyclops is closely related to the giants but is easily recognisable by the single large eye in the centre of its forehead. The lack of depth perception due to just one eye makes the cyclops a clumsy creature but it makes up to some extent with raw power and meanness. They are not very intelligent and usually fight with a large wooden or stone club.

FOREST GIANT Reputed to be related to the fairies, these lumbering monsters bear little resemblance to the dainty winged folk found dancing in twilit meadows. Feeding on whatever is not foolish enough to flee from either the noise or the smell they tend not to be fussy eaters. Being the smallest of the giant races they still stand an average of ten feet tall although walking with a stoop as they scan the ground for dead animals usually means that they are more likely to appear much less.

HILL GIANT Giants are probably the stupidest of the humanoid races and the Hill Giants are no exception. They are weak willed, slow witted and extremely childish. They enjoy nothing more than eating and if food is readily available they will eat until they can not move. The only accomplishment ever made by this race was learning how to make beer. Since their attitude towards drinking is the same as it is towards eating things have gone downhill ever since.

MOUNTAIN GIANT Bigger, uglier, meaner, and stupider than just about anything you have ever met before is the hideous mountain giant. This is the largest of the giants and like its fellows enjoys food, drink and fighting, not necessarily in that order. They are extremely primitive and most live in squalid caves in mountainous terrain. They smell really bad, half body odour and half from the uncured animal skins they use for clothing and armour.

STORM GIANT Brighter than the typical giant these solitary beings are believed to be builders capable of rearing castles on the tops of inaccessible mountains. These legendary castles are the store houses for fabulous treasures wrought over thousands of years by cunning artificers. How they ended up in giants castles is never clearly explained. Needless to say these giants often wear specially made armour and wield great swords as though they were daggers. They guard these jewels with a fierce passion.

TITAN Demi-god, or the favoured of the gods, these beings are invested with power far beyond mortal reckoning. With just a glance, they are more than capable of turning someone to ashes. They are always armed with mystical weapons and armour that turn all but the most enchanted blades. They will kill any and all that anger them. As they are immortal, they take little interest in revenge and after an encounter will never pursue their opponents.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx848 - BOG DEMON Swamps and other dark, dank places appear to be natural links to the underworld. They seem to attract unearthly creatures. These first appear as shapeless fogs of dark green and brown. They are easily identified as the ethereal mass contorts at random to form human-like faces that cry soundlessly in agonized pain. As they approach for combat however they slowly form into the shape of the thing that they attack. It is thought that should they kill without being disturbed they will inhabit the body of the victim, possessing it and perpetrating evil deeds. |

BOGGIT The smallest form of a bog demon, these wispy shadows lurk in search of souls to feed on. They appear once they have selected something to feast on as a smaller version becoming more solid as they feast. They are little match for a well armed party but they do not appear to be particularly intelligent. Maybe they cannot really be killed as they appear to vanish leaving a bad smell.

BOG DEMON These creatures are full of loathing for anything alive. They materialize out of the murk forming limbs from insubstantial mists. Weapons slowly form into something real in their grasp before they advance. Their weapons are slime coated and can lead to disease for any struck by them. |

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx849 - MORIDRAKE Moridrakes resemble dragons in all aspects except size. These little creatures rarely achieve lengths more than a few feet and if it wasn't for their sly, almost evil faces they could even be considered cute. They are vicious and mean just like dragons but are not as intelligent and with an overinflated ego. This drives them to confront adventurers that are obviously going to kill them. It is hardly surprising that they are a dying species. |

DRAKELING Little more than the size of a lizard, at best 4 feet long, these squeaking little bundles of spite will still charge headlong into a heavily armoured warrior. Attempts to capture them and train them have always ended in pain and misery for either the moridrake or the owner, generally with terminal consequences.

MORIDRAKE Like their larger relatives these creatures can actually breathe fire. This generally comes as quite a surprise as the ball of fire is vastly larger than the tiny beast. Despite reaching maturity, their aggression is not dissipated with wisdom. They are still aggressive to the point of stupidity. |

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx850 - SOLDIER Hired by the local city, these patrol the lands maintaining order. They are a fairly common sight on the roads, fields and open regions throughout the realm. The rumours about soldiers is unfortunately all too often proved true. In some cases, the only difference between a soldier and bandit is the quality of the armaments. These braggarts are quick to anger and can sometimes attack without provocation. |

MILITIAMAN The ranks of militia are filled with old men, drunks, boastful youths and general scum. Given their own way, they would rape and drink. Luckily they are generally held in check by their captain or fear of the gallows. These are not the dashing heroes that charge to the rescue. They are more likely to watch a fight from a distance and pick through the corpses at the end, returning to town with any hides for the reward.

FOOTMAN These are the first ranks of professional soldier. They are often well kitted for fighting with swords and armour. Despite this though they are rarely nice people. They are not averse to rape and murder especially if it can be blamed on marauding monsters. Many only stay as footmen as they gamble and drink all pay and find themselves penniless after a few days leave. |

KNIGHT Born to this station, these lesser nobles are invariably arrogant and over-confident. This makes a gap between the ranks and knights that will never be bridged. The knight often refers to his 'loyal' retainers as scum, sons of whores and a few other more colourful names. It is hardly surprising that once in a while a knight is lost on patrol and even more mysteriously his horse somehow turns up at a village ostlers. |
