This is where Judy celebrated her first day at school in ... well, a long time ago. The first part of this school house was built in 1912 but a tornado in the same year slowed down construction, so it wasn't finished until 1914. The first-graders starting in 1912 were the first graduating class in 1920. There were never more than 40 or 50 students enrolled at any given time and in 1966, the school closed. For a while, the building hosted a child development center and now it serves as community center with a multitude of purposes. |
