Bavaria State

Vacation 2010

September 13, Germany

Schwangau, Bavaria

Schwangau City

The first three days of our vacation we spent with Frank at Lake Constance. He took us on some really remarkable day-trips!

On September 13, Frank went with us to Bavaria to visit the fairy-tail-castle of King Ludwig II.

At the only rainy day of our trip, we took a two hour road trip to Schwangau, an almost 1,000 year-old town in Bavaria, famous for not just one, but two castles.

The castle Neuschwanstein towers majestically over the town.

Neuschwanstein was our destination for today. The second castle, Hohenschwangau, we saved for the next time.

It was raining pretty hard, so we decided to skip the one-hour hike to the castle. Instead, we took a ride in a carriage, driven by a two-horsepower engine.

Soon, the castle was in sight. At the next page, you can take a full castle tour.
