During our stay at Lake Constance, we were guests at Volker's friend Frank. Frank lives in Immenstaad, a small, 900 year-old town, famous for its wine and its hospitality. |

Near Immenstaad is Friedrichshafen, home town of Count
Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin and center of German
airship production for over 100 years.![]() However, the mail attraction for us was the viewing tower in the harbor, offering stunning views over Lake Constance. |

All the major towns along the lake are connected by ferries, ranging from old steamers to modern catamarans. |

And of course, the tower also offered a great view over the entire town. |

Looking south, there was the entire lake, with views all the way to Austria and Switzerland. |

With a good zoom lens (thank you, Steffen) we were able to find Mount Schesaplana, 35 miles away in Austria. This mountain towers over Lake Lünersee, were went hiking a day earlier. |
