Uranometria, the first star atlas showing the entire sky was designed by German cartographer
Johann Bayer and first published in 1602.
The original charts were copperplate engravings designed by by German engraver Alexander Mair.
Soon after the original publication, hand colored versions of Mair's engravings were published. The colored charts shown here are from a version
of Uranometria published in Augsburg in 1641 and made available by Albion Prints.
