Aries is a mid-sized constellation in the Northern celestial hemisphere.
Its name is Latin for Ram.
Aries is one of the 48 original Ptolemaic Constellations and one of the twelve constellations of the Zodiac. Its main star is Hamal, which is derived from the Arabic derives from the Arabic rās al-ħamal, meaning "head of the ram." |
