Hydra is a constellation in the
southern celestial hemisphere.
The constellation is also associated with the multi-headed monster Hydra in Greek muythology, that was killed by Hercules. Hydra is one of the 48 original Ptolemaic Constellations. It is the largest one of all constellations. It's brightest star is Alphard. |
